Hope You Got a Few Minutes..........We Gotta Catch Up!!

Alrighty, let's see what is new in my life.  We have enjoyed some Ole Miss ballgames - only one with the kids though.  Caleigh took several pics of every player and the entire band, but I managed to get one of her and Kenley with some cheerleaders. Then there was little Carmon Claire's first birthday party.  Plenty of presents and lots of fun.  Aunt Jeanne got her a "pony" (of course) and a pretty pink blanket with a wrangler pocket on it and her initials. Too Cute!!!  Caleigh got her a train that shoots balls out of it.  How fun is that!! She had her own little cake (thanks, Gran) and didn't mind getting into the icing.  Aunt Jeanne made dip and brought snacks (thanks for taking up my slack, cuz).

Then we had a very exciting Halloween.  Caleigh was a beautiful pirate "girl" and CC was a bumble bee (same costume Caleigh had at one).  They were both precious!!  CC only made it to 3 houses before she was a little exhausted.  We were on our way to Jackson that night and then on to Oxford the next day so my sweet Ryan met us and took little CC to her second mom (Haleigh).  Thanks Ryan and Haleigh!  CC sure does love you!!  Well, there are a few other things going on, but I have got to study for a final exam..............I promise I will finish one night soon.....hopefully.  Oh, fyi, the date has been set for December 20th!!!!!  Yay me!!

The Fast and Furious

Well, let's try and catch up.  It has been extremely fast and very crazy lately.  I usually spend all my free time studying - it is not easy going back to school at my age; however, I WILL SUCCEED! 

Hurricane Ike made Nan and her bunch leave League City, TX (where they live now) just outside of Galveston.  Before they went back home, we met in Amite, LA for Sunday lunch.  I miss seeing her - but mostly, I miss seeing Abby and Macie.  Here is a pic of Uncle Ray and his four girls: three little blonde hair and blue-eyed; then there is Carmon Claire (think she will always be a little special)  And look at my sweet Abby, fixing to be 19 and just as beautiful as the day she was born...........my how time flies.  Of course, since Macie didn't have to go back to school, she came home with us for a few days.  Caleigh enjoyed it b/c she would make Macie clean her room (you know the younger cousin looking up to the older - sure that will change before long!!)  Had a great time - sure do wish they could grow up together.

Then there was the trip to the Ringling Bros circus at the coliseum.  You know, for Carmon Claire, because she had never been.  Well she really enjoyed the nap through the entire circus.  Here are some pics - just in case you have never seen a Siberian tiger in a cage being chased around by a woman in a long purple coat; or if you haven't seen elephants sitting on a stool; or clowns - but I am sure most of you haven't seen a circus act with 5 little dachshunds - but you have now.......

      So after floor seats at $40.00 each, lemonade for $8.00 a glass and popcorn for $4.00 a box - seeing these dachshunds in little half rockers doing tricks, was priceless ( I guess, Michael, I am sure, wwouldn't agree)

Since we last visited, CC has made her first trip to McDonald's with her little daycare group at NeeNee's (Denise Magee).  We met the group for lunch and she had a great time!! I left CC with Denise after lunch and went to have dinner with Ray.  While eating, Denise called laughing hysterically saying that Carmon Claire had dropped her sassy and was screaming, while another little girl Abby quietly sat beside her with her fingers in both ears!!  Denise had made one stop to get the sassy and give it back to CC only for her to throw it again.  Long lunch and I'm sure it was a long ride home - until she crashed.  Denise sent me these pics of the day...............

  So much fun!!  Ok, now I am getting a little tired! WHEW!! What a day!!!

Then there was ASC Homecoming where my very beautiful Haleigh was on the court.  And we were there, along with her beautiful beau, Ryan, and guess what................yep, we made pictures - lots of them!!

Took the girls to eat at Sante Fe in McComb - really, really good.  So glad Caleigh will eat just about anything - and so far, CC will too.  Today CC had a little snack on onion rings from Granny's corner with Haleigh and Ryan. YUMMY!!! 

Well, dear Ruthie, hope you enjoyed some very boring news.  We leave tomorrow for our first ever trip to Ole Miss.  Michael is a die-hard fan - me, not so much.  Mostly a USM fan - that may change this weekend.  Oh and next weekend - a very great thing will happen - CARMON CLAIRE WILL BE TURNING 1 YEAR OLD (10-10-08).  Maybe I will take some pictures - who knows, seems like I always forget my camera............HA HA HA

Just Too Tired

Well, I really do have some stuff to blog about...........but I am just so tired!! Will try to get up and going again next week.  Have I ever mentioned how extremely weird my life is?  Seems to only get worse...........Okay, now I know I need to go to bed - the whining has started.  Oh by the way,

Happy Birthday To Me (and Michael, Ray, Brandee, Nonny, Pop, Kelly, Abbey S.)

Boy I sure hope I didn't miss anybody.  When it gets late, my mind is 90 miles an hour thinking of what I need to do and what I haven't done.      But what a month!!  Happy Birthday to all my August Peeps!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I enjoyed a wonderful birthday on the 22nd.  Michael brought me two wonderful presents - a trio of cross candle holders and a picture frame that said "Love Doesn't Make the World Go Round. It just makes the ride worthwhile."  Ain't that sweet!!!!  Then we went out to eat with Gary and Cindy.  Michael had called the new Sante Fe restaurant in McComb to get reservations - which they said they couldn't do.  So he got a "contact" name and we took our chances.  The line of people was unbelievable and we joked about Michael having a "contact" that could move us ahead of an 1 1/2 hour wait.  People eyed us as we moved in and got a table in about 15 minutes.  At one point, I was scared the crowd would turn hostile - but we made it - and it was worth every bite and laugh.  Thanks Gary and Cindy for a wonderful supper!

Before going out to eat, I got a call from Gran. They were on their way home from Madison and insisted that Michael and I come to coffee at Cynthia's.  As usual, she had thought of everything.  We had ice cream and cake and they gave us presents!! Mine - jewelry; Michael - Ole Miss.....needless to say we were both happy!  Gran had already started passing out the good stuff before I could get a picture, so excuse the missing piece.

Missed A Few Things

If you need a good dentist and a dentist that looks good, try the new one in Liberty.  Just spent a lot of time with him (root canal).  25 and looking really cute from Baker, LA.

We went to Natchez a couple of weekends ago.  Stayed at the new hotel at the river.  It was beautiful.  Across the street at the convention center, they were having a "food market" or something like that....anyway, we went in  and Caleigh met up with some old friends.............Does anybody remember how frightened she used to be of grown people in costumes??  Can you say "Barney"????

I'm Back

Well, I really didn't go anywhere but I certainly haven't had much time to blog lately.  School started, Carmon Claire had shots and cut another tooth (both which gave her fever for 2-3 days) and Caleigh began cheering on Monday and Tuesday afternoons in Brookhaven - and she has had a cough for 3 weeks.   It seems to take me longer to get "in the swing of things".  Maybe I got too much swinging.  Anyway, here is a short synopsis of the past few weeks. 

I was totally surprised one day when my phone rang and it was a dear cousin of mine from Arkansas.  She had brought her mother to visit her brother's and was in Summit.  I haven't seen her in at least 5 years.  We met up and went to Meadville to meet the other cousin, Jeanne, at Georgeanne's.  Of course we had a blast and talked, and talked, and talked...... The stories we have from our childhood can make you hurt from laughing.  How great things were growing up.  They both are like sisters to me.  Now matter how often we see each other or how often we talk - it's seems as if it were yesterday.  Ray and I, along with the girls, went to Natchez that night to meet Becky and her mom, Aunt Lula.  We ate at the "Pig Out Inn" and again had a great time.  Sure wish she lived closer.  Aunt Lula was my mother's sister.  She also has 2 brother's.

Moving on...got a new seat for Carmon Claire at Hudson's.  It just hangs on the bar - it is GREAT!  This is a wonderful picture of what supper time looks like with her... Needless to say she was tired and didn't mind rubbing her food on her clothes, face and hair.  Ain't she sweet........

Oh and she is taking some steps now....the fun is just beginning.  I freaked out the other night when I couldn't find her.  Scared and calling her name, I found her in Caleigh's room - no lights on just sitting in there. OMG what am I gonna do!!!!!!!! Hope she is tough - pray that I am...

And I have just added something to my plate - I have decided to finish my degree beginning with some on-line classes.  I begin on Monday with 4 classes with Southwest.  I will need about a year to finish there and then I am moving on to a senior college.  I have always wanted to be an English teacher and never finished after high school - decided to take a different path at that age.  Enjoyed some stops along that path but sure wish I had finished college.  Would have made the end of that journey better - but hindsight is always 20/20.  Maybe by the time Carmon Claire is in high school, I will be a teacher!

Getting ready for the big birthday party in October. Really ready for football season.  Michael apparently has plans for us to attend 3 games at Ole Miss.  He already has the tickets.  I have never been to Oxford, so I hope I make it. 

Caleigh begins competitions the first weekend in December.  Another year of 2 minutes and 30 second routines.  But this year, she will be doing a round-off back hand-spring.  Yep, it sounds technical, but for the money, it better be good - really good!

Well, I am jumping ahead of myself.  Just scared I won't get back around to blogging.  Maybe if I cut it short - it wouldn't take so long.  By the way, Kelly, give me some dialog please!!

Before school started, I loaded up Caleigh, Casey and Justus to get shoes and a haircut for Casey.  They all wanted to go to the bookstore before the haircut to which I agreed.  Thought this picture was priceless..... Have you heard that song, "You're Gonna Miss This".  I sure do love these kids.

A Very Special Thank You

I wanted to say a very, very special "Thank You" to a very special girl - Christina.  Christina Magee volunteered at the drama camp and offered to take Caleigh to the camp every morning.  I will always remember you doing that for her........THANKS!!
